Crew West provided a camera crew and Satellink West provided its HD satellite truck for a live interview with A.J. Pierzynski of the Chicago White Sox. The interview occurred during the White Sox spring training camp located in Glendale, AZ. The beautiful spring AZ weather greeted the crew as they broadcasted the live interview for the Dan LeBatard is Highly Questionable show which airs on ESPN. Each year, Crew West and Satellink West provide hours of spring training Cactus League coverage for various clients in SD and HD.
The Arri Alexa seems to be the new trend in capturing great images and in sound while also being portable and affordable. While most films cameras, require a different position for each task involved whether loading film, pulling focus, composing the shot, and supplying power, the Arri Alexa has simplified itself in all aspects. With an easy to use and read LCD interface, changing settings to the files it records, the resolution or format the camera, and audio settings. The Arri Alexa has also swapped for SxS cards as its format for recording. Although delicate in handling and still vulnerable to corruption, the ability to replace film with SxS cards and still create a magnificent picture is well greeted. The Arri Alexa is a new tool for your production to have the high end look of film without the cost.

Crew West is now the proud owner of a Glidecam HD-4000 camera stabilizing system. Glidecam is a competitor to Tiffen’s Steadicam. Along with the Glidecam we purchased the X10 arm and vest. The arm and vest make stable shooting easier and prolongs the shooter’s endurance. The Glidecam HD-4000 has a weight rating of up to 15 pounds. This makes it perfect for cameras like the 5D Mark ll, Sony F3 and FS 100, or even a stripped down RED Epic. The majestic floating look achieved when using the Glidecam always brings an extra amount of class to any production. Because of the Glidecam HD-4000’s smaller size the cost to our clients compared to a large Steadicam rig is less than half.
